    Keith is the founding Director of Remote Safety Solutions and has a diverse background, with an adventure background derived from working as a guide in Australia and overseas he has dealt with a range of remote incidents within his own adventures. Keith's emergency management and first aid skills are derived from working as Ski Patroller and Rescue Air Crewman for a number of rescue and emergency services. When Keiths not in the office he's on the road traveling with his team to some of Australias most remote and isolated communities delivering a range of courses to better prepare people for any unforeseen incidents they may encounter.
HLTAID005 Provide First Aid in a Remote Situation

Our Remote Area First Aid Courses are designed for those who work in remote and isolated environments such as outdoor recreational providers and remote workers. Individuals that benefit from completing a remote area first aid course are guides/instructors working in recreation/sport sectors, persons undertaking adventure activities, scientist conducting field studies, surveyors, four wheel drivers, tour operators and government search and rescue organisations.

This course also applies to those that live and work in environments where medical assistance could be delayed due to geographic locations such as remote communities or farms.
RSS’s Remote Area First Aid Training provides learners with the required, skills and knowledge to provide advanced first aid to a casualty in remote or isolated environments for extended periods of time until medical assistance arrives or evacuation occurs.

 

QUALIFICATION – Learners will gain the following Statement of Attainments upon successful completion of the course;

  HLTAID005 – Provide first aid in remote situations
    HLTAID003 – Provide First Aid‎
    HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

ADD ON OPTIONS – Call for further information

  •     PUAEME005A – Provide pain management
  •     HLTAID006 – Provide Advanced First Aid
DURATION –  The standard RSS Remote Area First Aid Course includes 36 hours of face to face learning over 4 days including a 4 hour night scenario.
PRICE Course fee is $480.00 and includes all training resources. This course requires a minimum of 8 students to start with a maximum of 22 per course. Travel and accommodation to remote locations is not included in the above figure

 

COURSE ASSESSMENT – This course is 90% practical; learners will be assessed via the pre-course learning and via the practical scenarios throughout the duration of the course. The following assessment tasks are required for this course:

  •     8 written questions
  •     50 Multiple choice questions
  •     Simulated emergency scenario’s

Our Arcadia venue is located on private property within Murramurra National Park NSW. Access to the venue is via bloodwood Rd Fiddletown. The last 3 km is along a national park serviced fire trail, 2wd drive vehicles can assess the venue
