Hugh has undertake a certificate III and IV in outdoor recreation at Blue Mountains TAFE specialising in a range or adventure based activities. After completing his Cert IV Hugh has been an adventure guided in the Blue Mountains as well as a facilitator for outdoor education programs throughout NSW.  Hugh’s primary skill set lie in his climbing and roping activities. In 2013 and 2014 Hugh traveled the west coast of the USA and remote parts of Alaska climbing and honing is skills in the mountains.

While in Alaska Hugh undertook a number of training programs for further education and to develop his climbing and hiking skill sets. This involved undertaking a wilderness first responder course and skills development programs in ice climbing and mountaineering.

Hugh’s goals for the future are to continue learning not only from training institutions but also from the programs that he works on.
