Provide first aid in remote situations HLTAID005

Our Remote Area First Aid Courses are designed for those who work in remote and isolated environments such as outdoor recreational providers and remote workers.

Individuals that benefit from completing a remote area first aid course are guides / instructors working in recreation / sport sectors, persons undertaking
adventure activaties, scientist conducting field studies, surveyors, four wheel drivers, tour operators and government search and rescue organisations.

This course also applies to those that live and work in environments where medical assistance could be delayed due to geographic locations such as remote communities or farms.

RSS’s Remote Area First Aid Training provides learners the required, skills and knowledge to provide advance first aid to a casualty in remote or isolated environments for extended periods of time until medical assistance arrives or evacuation occurs.

Learners will gain the following Statement of Attainments upon successful completion of the course;

  • HLTAID005 – Provide first aid in remote situations
    HLTAID003 – Provide First Aid‎
    HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

The standard RSS Remote Area First Aid Course
includes 36 hours of face to face learning over 3 days including a 4 hour night scenario.

Your work site is the best location to conduct your emergency management training as it creates the desired outcomes and helps you identify and plan for emergency incidents in your place of work.

We organise and conduct our training at any location or in any environment around Australia and can access most locations Australia wide. Please contact us to inquire about hosting the RSS training program. Discounts apply to venue hosts. RSS open courses are run at both Murramurra and Caonelands, NSW

Course fee is $480.00 and includes all training resources. This course requires a minimum of 12 students to start. Travel and accommodation to remote locations is not included in the above figure. Contextualised course may incur other fees.

This course is 90% practical; learners will be assessed via the pre-course learning and via the practical scenarios throughout the duration of the course. The following assessment tasks are required for this course:
• 8 written questions
• 50 Multiple choice questions
• Simulated emergency scenario’s
